New High keyed "Pendant Flutes"
These tiny flutes are only 8-9 inches long and tuned to keys ranging from high F# - high A. An integral part of their design is a sturdy leather necklace that allows the flute to be worn as a pendant. The leather necklace passes through a specially made hole in the flute body itself. These are six hole flutes and are precision tuned to play all the same scales as larger six hole flutes. However, the finger holes are spaced widely enough that most adults can play them and are slightly dished so your fingers can find them easily.

Unlike nearly all of our other flutes, these pendant flutes are built with the aid of machine tools. This saves time and allows us to offer them for just $90.00 in most woods. They are bored from solid blocks of wood using a boring machine and the outside of the flute is shaped with a belt sander and router. They are then hand-sanded for final shaping, and the windway and fingerholes are burned in by hand in a traditional way.

New NAF/Ocarina hybrids
These vessel flutes are tuned to the standard pentatonic scales that most of our other flutes are and can be played in much the same way (the hands are just side-by-side instead of one above the other). These are small flutes. The largest flutes shown here are only 9 inches long, yet can be tuned as low as a mid-D.

These vessel flutes are completely hand carved from your choice of woods. Pricing will depend on the woods chosen and the key of the flute, but they are very economical for hand carved flutes. A mid-E in Western Red Cedar is just $135.00.

Now building "divided bore" double flutes
This flute design has two half-circular flutes separated by a thin layer of wood, so you get a double flute in the form factor of a single flute. The mouthpiece has two blowholes in it so both the melody and drone flutes can be played independently. Additionally, the drone bore can be equipped with a thumb hole which raises the drone pitch by a fifth.

Divided bore double flutes are currently available from mid-F to C. These flutes are completely hand carved from your choice of woods. Pricing will depend on the woods chosen and the key of the flute. A mid-G double with cedar as the main wood is $315.00.
